If y'all don't know, the Prayer Book Cross is a stone cross that stands in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. It marks the spot where in 1579 occurred the first BCP service in the US. You can see a picture of it here: www.lightight.com/GGP/mem_images/Mem3P02.htmlIn San Diego, there is a hilltop cross called the Mount Soledad Cross which has been the subject of a lawsuit since 1989 by an atheist who wants it removed. The case dragged on so long that the original plaintiff died this fall. You can read about this at wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_SoledadThe City of San Diego has pretty much lost every step of the way. Here's my question: the Prayer Book Cross is in a public California park. Does anybody know if it is in similar jeopardy? I couldn't find anything online regarding whether it would have to be removed if the Mt. Soledad case is successful.
